There is a small charge of £5 to join the DWA Pest Control section, to cover things like the Pest Officer's telephone calls to participants. Members are able, at the invitation of local farms and estates, to assist with fox and vermin control as requested. There are a mixture of weekend and mid-week opportunities.
We meet formally every other month:
- February (Annual General Meeting)
- August (Membership renewals)
- December (Christmas Draw)
With the exception of the December meeting, these meetings are held on the last Thursday of the
month (7.30 for 8.00pm). The meeting format is usually as follows:
- Club business and notices
- Entertaining and educational speaker (when arranged)
Speakers have included John Swift (Chief Executive of BASC), Chris Green, James Green,
Neil Dale (Chief Executive of NOBS), Dorset Police Armed Response Squad and Kevin Wilcox of Tidepool.
Meetings are open to all members and to guest of members (by arrangement with the DWA Committee).
We also meet informally on occasions through the year, including a BBQ and clay shoot during the summer months
and pub nights on the last Thursday of each month in which there is not a scheduled formal meeting.
